Nazareth Early Childhood Center
The Early Childhood Center at Nazareth is a progressive school providing services for typically developing preschoolers and children identified with disabilities in the East Flatbush and Canarsie section of Brooklyn.
What Nazareth has to offer...
Early Intervention:
We service children under 3 years of age who have been identified with or are at risk for developing delays in functional skills. Each 2 1/2 hour class aims to create a nurturing environment that is rich in educational content, as well as supportive of each child's emotional and social growth.
Preschool Special Education:
Providing a small structured environment to children aged three to five who are eligible to receive special instruction and related services. A multidisciplinary team of creative and highly talented individuals identifies each child's developmental needs and objectives, sets attainable goals and then works towards meeting those goals. Our special education program offers integrated therapy. We are particularly proud to offer the TEACCH methodology of instruction to children who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Head Start:
We have three classrooms offering a comprehensive educational opportunity to children aged three to five from income eligible families. This unique program combines typically developing children with children who have handicapping conditions in a fully integrated setting. We are committed to supporting and educating the family as a whole. Volunteers are welcome at all times.
